Kaia (Keyan) Zhu

Kaia Zhu is a lawyer practising in building and construction litigation, with experience in broader commercial disputes.

Kaia assists clients in building and construction matters involving incomplete and defective works, water ingress, payment disputes, regulatory compliance and VCAT proceedings. She has experience working with owners, builders, subcontractors and other construction industry participants, and is involved in matters from the early advice stage through to litigation.

Before focusing on construction law, Kaia gained experience across commercial litigation and international equity capital markets, developing strong skills in legal analysis, drafting, due diligence, commercial judgment and stakeholder management.

Kaia is fluent in English and Mandarin and is able to assist Mandarin-speaking clients with complex legal and technical issues.

Kaia was admitted to practise in the Supreme Court of Victoria in 2024. She holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Melbourne and Bachelor’s degrees in Law and Economics from the University of Arizona in the United States.
